JaQuan Corner Mrs. Zurkowski Blues 5 September 2019 Zoe's Transformation The book The Beckoners by Carrie Mac is a book about a teenager named Zoe and her life in a couples months in high school. Zoe is an anxious person and she hates when people tell her she can’t do something, she is like a daredevil. Zoe always has a lot on her mind, she always thinks about her mistakes and what she could've done. Zoe is a person that will try to fit in other than sticking out, she is just a bystander. She doesn't really change much except she thinks more about her actions and decisions, more often than she used to. She still just stands by and watches, she still tries to fit in. But she does change her actions, as in what type of people to surround herself with. Zoe had some toxic friends she didn’t need around her, so she got rid of them by ignoring them and telling them she doesn't want to be apart of their circle. Zoe moves to a small town called Abbotsford, she

\Diffusion - Movement of particles from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration. Facilitated Diffusion - Diffusion of molecules through a protein channel. (Does not require energy) Osmosis - Diffusion of water through a selectively permeable membrane. Osmosis Pressure - Pressure that most be applied to prevent osmotic movement across a selectively permeable membrane. Active Transport - Process can move molecules from a lower concentration solution on one side of the membrane to a higher concentration solution on the other side. (Does require energy) Endocytosis - Process in which a substance gains entry into a cell without passing through the cell membrane.(Substance entering the cell) Exocytosis - Process of cellular secretion or excretion in which substances contained in vesicles are discharged from the cell by fusion of the vesicular membrane with the outer cell membrane. (Waste exiting the cell) Homeostasis - Relatively constant internal p
