\Diffusion - Movement of particles from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration.

Facilitated Diffusion - Diffusion of molecules through a protein channel. (Does not

require energy)

Osmosis - Diffusion of water through a selectively permeable membrane.

Osmosis Pressure - Pressure that most be applied to prevent osmotic movement across a selectively permeable membrane.

Active Transport - Process can move molecules from a lower concentration solution on one side of the membrane to a higher concentration solution on the other side. (Does require energy)

Endocytosis - Process in which a substance gains entry into a cell without passing through the cell membrane.(Substance entering the cell)

Exocytosis - Process of cellular secretion or excretion in which substances contained in vesicles are discharged from the cell by fusion of the vesicular membrane with the outer cell membrane. (Waste exiting the cell)

Homeostasis - Relatively constant internal physical and chemical conditions that organisms maintain.

Isotonic Solution - Two solutions that have the same amount of solute.

Hypotonic Solution - Solution with less solute than another solution.(More water outside the cell, moving towards the inside were there's a less concentration of water)

Hypertonic Solution - Solution with more solute than another solution.(More water inside the cell, and diffusing outside the side cell because there's a less concentration of water)
