preparation quiz

I got a quiz tomorrow, and I'm going to get prepared for it , I hope i do good. I've been studying hard I practice everyday, I'm glad there's a word bank or I would definitely fail. I expect a 90+ on this quiz I studied to hard not to get that much. I hope my class studied so our class average could go up, I feel like we are the smartest class forget the AP or honors classes. Super human geo we are the G.O.A.T's of geography , no one is better except Mr.Schick. Nonetheless, I feel very confident my classmates and I that we can all get 88+.

notes

The art and science of map making is called cartography , the 2 purposes of a map is to be a reference tool to identify an objects absolute and relative location. The second reason, a communications tool to convey the distribution of human activities or physical features. Absolute location, position as expressed in degrees, minutes, and seconds of latitude and longitude. Relative location, is the regional position or situation of a place relative to the position of other places. Longitude is a geographic coordinate that specifies the north-south position of a point on the Earth's surface. Latitude is measured by imaginary lines running parallel to the equator, and used ti measure distance by degrees North or South of the equator.

situation

situation is a location of a place relative to other places, it's a valuable way to indicate location. Finding an unfamiliar place and finding it's importance. Situation also helps us understand the importance of location. Situation is also detailed directions like on how to get to Harford Mall or how to get to the nearest Mcdonalds. Like let's say i would want to know how to get to a hotel, a person would say like east of taco tijuana or across the street from waffle house.

notes

A site is the physical character of a place, characteristics include climate, water, latitude, and elevation. We, humans have the ability to change/modify the characteristics of a site. Like New Orleans they built canals to prevent flooding, because there're places below sea level. Also sites can be over crowded but can be expanded like places such as New York. Sites can also be where people settle, also where there is good soil for agriculture.
